Early Childhood Program

Classes for ages 3, 4, 5, & 6 are SPECIFICALLY designed to meet your child’s needs as they progress through each phase of development. Instruction is based on training the child as a whole with a focus on creative movement and pre-ballet. Each step on our Early Childhood roadmap is progressive with age appropriate advancement to learning the “FUNdamentals”.

Program Benefits:

  • Creative movement provides children with success-oriented, creative experiences that can enhance all areas of learning and growth; including the later development of reading, math, and other educational skills.

  • In this nurturing and interactive environment children will learn the basics of classroom behavior and manners, which include learning how to take turns, wait patiently, work together with each other, how to follow another dancer or lead the way and have a positive attitude!

  • This is formatted to prepare young students both physically and mentally not only for studying the beautiful art form of classical ballet but also for many other athletic endeavors!

Ballet

Dance Dimensions is proud to include the American Ballet Theatre’s National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development.

Mrs. Emily (Burnell) Bernazzoli was proud to be the first dance educator in the state of West Virginia to have successfully passed the comprehensive examinations to be accredited in this program!

The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome based guideline to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Primary through Level 8 will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Emily (Burnell) Bernazzoli who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 7 & Partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

Ballet is highly encouraged as a core class for those students who wish to become strong well rounded dancers,  as it strengthens balance, coordination, and flexibility.

Tap

Mrs. Emily Bernazzoli holds certification from the American Tap Dance Foundation’s Teacher Training Program. We are excited to be apart of the direct lineage of sharing the Copasetic Cannon Curriculum with our students. Over the years, our students have had opportunities to train with a number of noteworthy tap dancers including Maud Arnold, one of the famous Syncopated Ladies. Past students have been selected and invited to dance with The JaM Youth Project, a pre-professional tap dance company for youth, in Washington DC. During training in NYC, Mrs. Emily had classes with tap legend of the American Tap Dance Foundation, Brenda Bufalino, Barbara Duffy, and Toni Noblett (ATDF mentor).
